A delegation of Chinese business leaders has commenced a series of strategic visits to key Nigerian government institutions to explore investment opportunities in critical sectors of the economy, just days after participating in the Nigeria Infrastructure Conference (INFRACON 1.0) organised by the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) in Abuja.

The investment mission followed the successful conclusion of the two-day conference held on July 14 and 15, 2026, which brought together policymakers, investors and industry stakeholders to discuss infrastructure financing and economic development.

The Chinese delegation was led by Nigeria’s Consul-General in Guangzhou, Ambassador Mairo Musa Abbas, who facilitated their participation at the conference. Accompanying the delegation were senior NACCIMA officials, including the National Vice President, Hon. Ahmed Rabiu, representing the National President, Engr. Jani Ibrahim; National Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Madinat Adigun-Oladotun; Special Adviser to the National President, Mr. Sulaiman Adoga; and NACCIMA China Relations Executive, Arc. Zakirudeen Oladotun.

During the working visits, the delegation held high-level discussions with officials of the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles (Pi-CNG & EV), the Nigeria Commodity Exchange (NCX), the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), and the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership (NCSP).

The engagements focused on identifying investment opportunities in local processing, manufacturing, energy, automobile production, agribusiness and other strategic sectors capable of driving Nigeria’s industrial growth.

Members of the Chinese delegation expressed confidence in Nigeria’s economic potential, describing the country as a strategic gateway to the African market. They indicated their willingness to partner with the Nigerian government and indigenous private sector investors to establish business ventures that would promote industrialisation, facilitate technology transfer, boost local production and create employment opportunities.

Ambassador Abbas said the visiting delegation comprises influential business groups and associations in China with the capacity to attract significant investments into Nigeria through their extensive commercial networks.

Officials of the various government institutions welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors. They also pledged to collaborate with NACCIMA in providing the necessary support and guidance to ensure the success of prospective investment projects.

The post-INFRACON engagements further highlight NACCIMA’s growing role in promoting Nigeria as a preferred investment destination, strengthening economic diplomacy, and attracting foreign direct investment to accelerate sustainable industrial and economic development.
