CG NSCDC appreciates President Tinubu for support, encouragement, says Corps will soon commission another college

Commandant General (CG), of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi has appreciated President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for all the support and encouragement given to the Corps by the federal government as he expresses hope of commissioning NSCDC Arms training College and Support Services, Udege in Nasarawa Local Government Area soon by the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Speaking after an inspection visit to the college, the CG described the quality of work done so far as “fantastic” considering the finishing as facilities used.

He expressed optimism that the presence of the Corps in Udege by siting of the College coupled with an output to serve as operational formation will go a long way fight acts of criminality like banditry and kidnapping and warned perpetrators to relocate or face the full wrath of the law.

According to him, the decision to establish the college was taken in responding to services like the Armed Squad personnel amongst others to reposition the NSCDC to able to discharge its duties like protection of critical national assets and Infrastructure effectively.

He pledged that “the college will be put to use maximally in Justifying the existence of the Corps which is to serve Nigeria and Nigerians.”

The NSCDC boss maintained that training is the bedrock of any organisation, hence his administration places high premium and emphasizes on training, retraining and capacity building.

On why his leadership has been able to come up with many colleges in just two years, Dr Audi explained that as a leader, he came prepared and his vision is to elevate NSCDC to a world class service.

He reiterates that his desire to leave a legacy that can be copied by others, stressing that he intends to leverage on capacity building and regimentation.

Recall that within the two years of Audi-led administration as third Substantive Commandant General of the Corps, a Command and Staff College, Jos been established and the pioneer set of participants over 300 officers have passed out.

The same tenure has also witnessed an unprecedented transformation in the development of curricula for all training institutions of the Corps.

Similarly, the Audi administration has developed a curriculum for the training of operatives and directors of private security industry in the country.

To swing into action, the Commandant General has inaugurated a 10-man training implementation committee to also ensure transformation of the industry which is under the purview of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
