Bangladesh Envoy Seeks Stronger ECOWAS Engagement

The Deputy High Commissioner and Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Bangladesh to Nigeria, Mr. Md. Faruk Hossain, has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission, H.E. Mr. Anthony Oluwatosin Ogunjimi, in Abuja.

The meeting, held at the ECOWAS Commission Headquarters, focused on strengthening Bangladesh’s engagement with ECOWAS and its member states.
A major issue discussed was the modalities for Bangladesh’s accreditation to ECOWAS, as both sides explored avenues for deepening institutional and diplomatic relations.

The discussions also considered ways Bangladesh could further broaden its engagement with the West African regional bloc and its wider membership.

The visit underscores Bangladesh’s interest in expanding its diplomatic and economic relations with West Africa through stronger engagement with ECOWAS and its member countries.
