Ayade completes decayed road project, embarks on more road projects

Cross River State Governor, His Excellency Sen Prof Ben Ayade has delivered on his promises of completing the Calabar-Odukpani Highway which has been in decay for a long time.

The Highway is one of the busiest interstate road in the South-South, South-Eastern part of the country and the only access route to the Municipal center and the adjoining Local Government Areas of Calabar.

Before Governor Ayade’s dualisation of the highway, the road was a one-way entry and exit into the city center with motorists scrambling for space in the shallow road.

In addition, Sen Ayade is undertaking the building of an ultra-modern Spaghetti Flyover; a massively intertwined road traffic interchange at the Odukpani Junction to end the age-long human and vehicular gridlock persistent in the area. Despite the very lean resources at his disposal, the Governor undertook the dualisation of the highway and created a bypass.

For over 6 decades, the highway was notorious for traffic lockdowns, until Governor Ayade came into the saddle and undertook this towering legacy project.
