Arewa Journalists Laud Dr. Cyril Tsenyil’s Appointment as NCDC MD: A “Perfect Choice” for North Central Development- AJF

The Arewa Journalists Forum (AJF) under the leadership of Comrade Hassan Galadima has unequivocally lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of Dr. Cyril Tsenyil as the Managing Director of the newly established North Central Development Commission (NCDC), describing the choice as “perfect” and a clear indication of the President’s commitment to competence and excellence in driving regional development.
In a statement released recently, the AJF commended President Tinubu for recognizing Dr. Tsenyil’s vast capacity and extensive experience, affirming that his appointment is a “round peg in a round hole” for the crucial task of transforming the North Central geopolitical zone.
Dr. Tsenyil, who served with distinction as the Accountant General of Plateau State for eight years, is credited with implementing revolutionary systemic overhauls and radical digitization of the state’s revenue generation, collection, and accounting systems. These innovations led to an exponential increase in revenue, effectively blocked leakages, and significantly reduced generation costs – a track record that instills confidence in his ability to deliver tangible results at the NCDC.
The AJF highlighted Dr. Tsenyil’s impressive professional journey, spanning over three decades in accounting, auditing, policy initiation, formulation and implementation, fund management, project management, and regulatory compliance. Such a comprehensive background, they noted, makes him exceptionally qualified to steer the NCDC with “speed, precision, and in the right direction.”
According to the Forum, Dr. Tsenyil is not merely a technocrat but an intellectual, scholar, teacher, resource person, visionary, and an excellent communicator. His leadership is seen as unassailable given his versatile skills and abilities, which are deemed essential for addressing the multifaceted challenges facing the North Central region, including infrastructural deficits, economic underdevelopment, and insecurity.
The establishment of the NCDC itself has been hailed as a long-awaited answer to prayers for the North Central, a region rich in agricultural and mineral resources but historically plagued by neglect and various crises. With its mandate to coordinate and accelerate development, tackle poverty, illiteracy, and ecological problems, and facilitate rehabilitation and reconstruction, the NCDC requires a leader with proven capacity and a deep understanding of the region’s needs. The Arewa Journalists Forum believes Dr. Tsenyil embodies these qualities.
The AJF further urged all well-meaning people of the North Central region to rally behind Dr. Tsenyil, providing him with the necessary support to succeed in this all-important assignment. They emphasized that his appointment signals President Tinubu’s dedication to the “Renewed Hope” agenda by entrusting critical national assignments to individuals with a demonstrated capacity for innovation and effective leadership. Dr. Tsenyil’s re-entry into public service at this pivotal commission is therefore viewed not just as a deserved recognition of his merit but as a strategic move to unlock the full potential of the North Central region.
