The Association of Proprietors of Private Media Establishment of Nigeria (APPMEN) will on Saturday, October 10, 2026, inaugurate its Lagos State Council as part of efforts to strengthen private media ownership and promote professionalism in Nigeria’s media industry.
The inauguration, scheduled for 11:00 a.m., will take place at No. 133, Idimu-Ejigbo Road, adjacent to Christ Land School, Alimosho, Lagos State, under the theme, “Voice, Vision, Purpose.”
The newly appointed leadership of the Lagos State Council comprises Princess Agbonifo as State Coordinator and Onome Naomi Onojaefe as State Publicity Secretary.
According to APPMEN National Coordinator, Chief Precious Enebuse, the inauguration represents a significant milestone in the association’s strategic expansion and repositioning of private media proprietors across the country.
Enebuse noted that Lagos State, widely regarded as Nigeria’s media hub, requires a vibrant and coordinated council capable of championing the interests of private media owners, promoting professionalism and strengthening the contribution of private media to national development.
He explained that the theme, “Voice, Vision, Purpose,” reflects the association’s commitment to providing private media proprietors with a stronger collective voice, developing a clear vision for sustainable media enterprises and promoting purpose-driven journalism.
The National Coordinator called on private media proprietors, publishers, bloggers, online television and radio operators, and other media entrepreneurs in Lagos State to participate in the inauguration.
He said the event would provide an opportunity for stakeholders to unite, strengthen professional relationships and contribute to the development of a more coordinated private media sector.
APPMEN also extended an invitation to media practitioners and members of the public to attend the inauguration.
The event is expected to mark a new phase in the association’s efforts to expand its presence and advance the interests of private media establishments in Nigeria.
