Following the unconstitutional and illegal decision despite all entreaties to the contrary of a Muslim running mate by the All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the platform known as All Progressives Congress (APC), has been described by the HUMAN RIGHTS WRITERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (HURIWA) as a BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS POLITICAL PARTY which all patriotic Nigerians must reject at the 2023 Presidential poll.
HURIWA spoke against the backdrop of the announcement by the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu that he has pencilled down the erstwhile governor of Borno state Senator Shettima Kashim a hardcore Islamist and hater of Christians as his Presidential running mate in next year’s election just as the Rights group said the decision of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pick a Muslim running mate is irresponsible, irrational, unpatriotic, Unconstitutional and clearly shows that the Islamists and terrorists of the boko haram and ISWAP genre hasve actively hijacked All Progressives Congress so as to declare full Islamic State in Nigeria.
HURIWA has called on Nigerians to make their choice of the best President of Nigeria between the Labour Party’s Peter Obi/Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed and the Peoples Democratic Party’s Alhaji Atiku Abubakar/Governor Ifeanyi Okowa because in the consideration of the Rights group any vote donated to the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress is a vote for the disintegration of Nigeria after the exit of President Muhammadu Buhari assuming without conceding that the APC will win.
HURIWA recalled that the All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate and National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday confirmed Senator Kashim Shettima as his Vice Presidential candidate.
Tinubu personally disclosed his choice to journalists at the Daura residence of President Muhammadu Buhari. The APC flag bearer arrived Daura Sunday afternoon to pay Sallah homage to President Buhari who arrived his home town on Friday.
Senator Shettima is former Governor of Borno State and a close associate of Tinubu who has been a staunch supporter and campaigner for the choice of Tinubu as the next President of Nigeria.
HURIWA faulted the decision saying the experience of a Muslim-Muslim ticket in Kaduna State since the last five years by Governor Nasir El-Rufai has shown that the government formed by all Muslims chief executives inevitably connives with Terrorists to kill Christians just as the Rights group said it amounts to discrimination of the non Muslims which constitute an infraction against Section 42(1) of the Constitution and violation of broad-based composition of government as spelt out in section 14(3) of the Constitution on Federal Character Principles in a appointments in Nigeria.
