Alhaji Umaru Sanda exits to Glory- Son
Death has been announced on the passing away of my father, Alhaji Umaru Sanda (Bakeke) who moved on to glory Wednesday, 14 June, 2023 and has since been buried in Lokoja according to Islamic rites.
A statement issued by the family at Lokoja reads in full,
“With deep sense of loss and gratitude to Almighty Allah, I announce the passing away of my father, Alhaji Umaru Sanda (Bakeke) who left this sinful world today, 14 June, 2023 at about 2pm. He has since been buried in Lokoja according to Islamic rites.
Umaru Sanda was born in 1928 and had his early Islamic education in Katcha, Niger state. In his quest for further knowledge, he traveled to Lokoja to seek for better understanding of Islam and the Hadith. While learning the Holy Quran, he further learned tailoring to serve as a means of livelihood. He was thereafter employed at the Inland Water Ways Authority which is presently known as National Inland Water Ways Authority
(NIWA).
Since his retirement from active service in the year 2002, he had been involved in humanitarian services and commitment to the service of Allah.
His demise, no doubt, is a huge loss to Lokoja community in specific and Kogi state in general.”
