Adalikwu Visits Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, Heads of Maritime Agencies and Nigerian Embassy in The Gambia

The Secretary General of the Maritime Organization for the West and Central Africa (MOWCA), visited and held meetings with the Hon Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, Director General, Gambia Maritime Administration, Heads of Maritime Agencies and the Nigerian Embassy in the Gambia.

According to the information made available to News Dot Africa, the “visit is part of the SG’s follow-up plans for the year to engage with member States in order to rebuild confidence, encourage payment of dues, present action plans, strategic vision and proposed budget of the New MOWCA, the SG embarked on a familiarization visit to The Honourable Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure (MTWI), Director General, Gambia Maritime Authority, Managing Director, Gambia Port Authority and Nigerian Embassy in Banjul, Gambia from February 26th to March 1st, 2022.

The Hon Minister of Gambia expressed profound support for the new leadership of MOWCA and pledged absolute support to enable the new SG succeed.

He recalled Gambia’s determination during the election process to ensure Nigeria and infact Dr. Adalikwu emerge as SG underpinning Nigeria/Gambia long decades of relationship.

He canvassed technical support from MOWCA to his country’s maritime agencies to strengthen their capacities.
