Abuja, July 3, 2026 – The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has appointed Dr. Tinuke Temitope as its pioneer Deputy Director General, marking the creation of the first-ever position of its kind in the Chamber’s history as part of efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and improve service delivery.
The appointment, which took effect on July 1, 2026, was announced by the President of ACCI, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, following approval by the Chamber’s Executive Committee during its Sixth Executive Committee and Council Meeting held on June 25, 2026.
Obegolu said the promotion was unanimously approved in recognition of Dr. Temitope’s dedication, professionalism and outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the Chamber.
He noted that the establishment of the office of Deputy Director General was one of the key resolutions reached during the 2025 Executive Committee Retreat, aimed at improving operational efficiency, strengthening institutional effectiveness, enhancing service delivery to members and reinforcing ACCI’s role in advancing private sector development and national economic growth.
The ACCI President expressed confidence that Dr. Temitope would continue to demonstrate the commitment and diligence that had distinguished her service to the Chamber.
Also congratulating the new Deputy Director General, ACCI Director General, Mr. Agabaidu Jideani, described her as a committed and accomplished professional whose contributions have significantly advanced the Chamber’s growth.
He said management and staff of the Chamber were confident she would excel in her new role and continue to provide effective leadership.
In her acceptance speech, Dr. Temitope expressed gratitude to God, the Chamber’s leadership and members of the Executive Committee and Management Council for the confidence reposed in her.
She described her appointment as both a great honour and a reflection of ACCI’s institutional growth, pledging to discharge her responsibilities with dedication and work collaboratively to advance the Chamber’s vision and mission.
Before her appointment, Dr. Temitope served as Deputy Director at the ACCI Business, Entrepreneurship, Skills and Technology (BEST) Centre and later became its Director, where she played a key role in promoting entrepreneurship development, capacity building and institutional growth.
Her elevation to the newly created office is expected to strengthen ACCI’s leadership structure and enhance its capacity to deliver greater value to its members and Nigeria’s business community.
