Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim has urged Nigerian women, especially members of the Tinubu Torchbearers, (TTB), to mobilise and visit every community across Nigeria and spread the word about the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the past three years.
Minister Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who represented the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu at an event in Abuja, reminded women that President Tinubu has transformed the Nigerian economy and turned several failing sectors around in a manner that several past administrations before him could not attempt.
The minister, who made these remarks on Tuesday while declaring open the National Secretariat of the Tinubu Torchbearers, (TTB), at the Asokoro District of Abuja, also pledged to partner with the ambassadors in ensuring that the message of good governance gets to the grassroots levels throughout the nation.
Earlier, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Women Leader, Mrs. Mary Alile Idele, said the National Secretariat of the Tinubu Torchbearers, (TTB), was commissioned in Abuja to help spread the message of development, describing it as a strategic hub to deepen grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking at the ceremony, Idele said the commissioning marks “another significant milestone” in strengthening political engagement and advancing the administration’s ideals, stating that the secretariat will coordinate, administer, and monitor TTB activities nationwide.
The Women Leader thanked APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda for creating opportunities for women to participate meaningfully in party affairs.
She praised President Tinubu’s “bold reforms, strategic interventions, and people-centered policies” that she said are laying the foundation for a more prosperous Nigeria.
Idele paid special tribute to First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, describing her as the “Grand Commander of the Renewed Hope Initiatives.”
She said the First Lady’s work through the Renewed Hope Initiative has brought “renewed confidence and hope” to millions by empowering women, children, and vulnerable groups economically, socially, and politically.
She commended the Tinubu Torchbearers for promoting the administration’s achievements at the grassroots, stating that since the national inauguration and symbolic exchange of the Torch of Renewed Hope, she said, state coordinators have taken the torch to all local governments across the 36 states and the FCT.
According to Idele, all 774 Local Government Coordinators have now exchanged the torchlight with 8,809 Ward Coordinators nationwide.
“We are proudly shining the Torch of Renewed Hope across the grassroots,” she said, adding that the message of the President’s programmes is reaching communities, wards, and states.
The new secretariat will host weekly intercessory prayers for the nation and the Tinubu administration, led by ordained female ministers, Royal Sisters, prayer networks, and the Northern Muslim Women Assembly.
Idele added that the sessions reflect belief that “divine guidance and support remain essential for national progress and success.”
She announced two innovations housed in the secretariat: the Women Situation Room and the “Do Know & Benefit” Digital Wristband Initiative.
The Situation Room will enable real-time monitoring of TTB activities and serve as a strategic election-monitoring centre capable of tracking developments across Nigeria’s 176,846 polling units.
The digital wristband, she explained, lets users scan to instantly access information on the Renewed Hope administration’s programmes and benefits via mobile devices. “In an increasingly digital world, we must embrace technology as a powerful tool for political communication,” Idele said, noting it will help reach youths, market women, farmers, artisans, and grassroots communities.
Reassuring the First Lady, Idele said progressive women across Nigeria “remain firmly united and solidly behind” President Tinubu’s administration. She urged TTB members to stay committed and continue to “shine the torch of Renewed Hope in every community, every ward, every local government, and every state.”
