The Honourable Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, has called for continued national support, prayers, and unity in strengthening the resolve of the Armed Forces of Nigeria in the ongoing battle against insecurity across the country.
The Defence Minister made the call while receiving the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Lazarus Muoka, during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
General Musa stressed that the fight against insurgency, terrorism, banditry, and other forms of criminality requires a whole-of-society approach, noting that prayers and encouragement from religious organisations remain vital in boosting the morale of troops deployed across various theatres of operation nationwide.
He commended Pastor Muoka and members of the church for their sustained prayers and support for Nigeria’s security institutions, while reaffirming the commitment of the Armed Forces to defending the nation’s territorial integrity and protecting lives and property.
The minister also urged religious leaders across the country to continue promoting peace, patriotism, national cohesion, and unity, describing faith-based organisations as strategic partners in efforts to strengthen national security and social harmony.
In his remarks, Pastor Muoka assured the Defence Minister of the church’s continued support for the Armed Forces and the Federal Government. He offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, good health, and the capacity to lead the country towards greater peace, stability, and economic prosperity.
The cleric also prayed for divine protection and victory for Nigerian troops, as well as lasting peace across the country.
The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs and reaffirmed the commitment of both the Ministry of Defence and the Christian community to sustained collaboration in advancing national peace, unity, and security.
