EDO GOVT APPOINTS DR INNOCENT EHIAGUINA BELLO AS EDOGIS MANAGING DIRECTOR

The Edo State Governor, His Excellency Monday Okpebholo has appointed Dr Innocent Ehiaguina Bello as the new Managing Director of the Edo State Geographic Information Service (EDOGIS), in a move aimed at strengthening land administration and enhancing service delivery in the state.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, underscores the government’s commitment to institutional reforms, transparency, and efficiency in land management processes. EDOGIS, as the agency responsible for land documentation, mapping, and geographic data management, plays a critical role in driving urban planning and investment facilitation in Edo State.
Dr Bello brings to the position a wealth of experience in public administration, geospatial systems, and policy implementation. His track record is expected to further consolidate the gains recorded by EDOGIS in digital land reforms and modernization of land services.
According to a statement from the state government, his leadership is anticipated to deepen the use of technology in land governance, improve turnaround time for land-related services, and boost investor confidence through a more transparent and accessible system.
The government also reiterated its resolve to continue repositioning key institutions like EDOGIS to support economic growth, infrastructure development, and sustainable urban expansion across Edo State.
Dr Bello is expected to assume duties immediately and steer the agency toward achieving its strategic objectives in line with the state’s development agenda.
Until his appointment, Dr Innocent Ehiaguina Bello was a Director/Head, Spatial Data Infrastructure
(NGDI Secretariat), MP & Satellite Data Management Dept.

His colleagues at NARSDA has since sent congratulations to Dr. Bello on the appointment adding that his expertise will drive innovation, strengthen land administration reforms, and deliver impactful transformation to Edo State.
