NABAPPMAN Appoints Tinubu-Ojo National Matron

The leadership of the National Bambara Nut Producers, Processors and Marketers Association (NABAPPMAN), led by Hon. Suleiman Isyaka Okutepa paid a courtesy visit to the Iyaloja of Lagos and the daughter of the Nigeria’s President, Dr. Mujidat Folashade Tinubu-Ojo in her Abuja office.
NABAPPMAN is an umbrella association of all stakeholders who are engaged in the activities of Bambara Nut along the value chain comprising farmers, producers, processors and marketers with membership from across the 36 states of the federation and the federal capital territory. The association, like other existing commodities, was nurtured by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant agencies.
The recent courtesy visit to Dr. Tinubu-Ojo, a well known market leader, philanthropist and investor was a strategic visit to continue to reposition the association for the task ahead. In his speech, Hon. Suleiman highlighted the significance of Bambara Nut in Nigeria as food for young and old with numerous medicinal values. He made it clear that the aim of the visit was to foster stronger relationship and explore potential areas of synergy. The highpoint of the visit was the presentation of certificate as national matron of NABAPPMAN to the Iyaloja of Lagos.
In her respons, Dr. Tinubu-Ojo expressed her joy. In accepting the position of the national matron of NABAPPMAN, she declared her support towards the growth of the association. She emphasised on the importance of agriculture and food security. According to her “the federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is very committed to make food available and cheap across Nigeria”.
The visit was described as fruitful and significant. The national president was joined by the vice president north central, Alhaji Lemu Adamu, the FCT chapter secretary, Mr. Jude Eze, representatives from Anambra State, Kogi State, Niger State, among others.
