The Hon. Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Gombe State, Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris, today, met with Electoral Officers (EOs) from the 11 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state as part of his ongoing familiarization and engagement tour with staff.

The meeting, held at the Conference Hall of the INEC State Office in Gombe, provided a platform for EOs to brief the REC on the status and activities of their respective offices.

In his welcome address, Dr. Idris acknowledged the crucial role of field officers, describing them as the “foot soldiers” of the Commission. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the EOs and their teams in the effective discharge of their duties. “I will give everyone the opportunity to do their work; however, you must take full responsibility for your roles,” he stated.

The REC also took time to brief the EOs on key issues discussed during the recent quarterly meeting between the Commission and Resident Electoral Commissioners held in Abuja.

In attendance at the meeting were key departmental heads, including Audu Mamuda Dauya (Acting Administrative Secretary), Aliko Mohammed Bularafa (Head of Department, General Administration and Procurement), Gambo Arabi (HOD, Electoral Planning and Monitoring), Kundum Nenfort Patrick Esq. (HOD, Legal Services), Bitson Filibus (HOD, Voter Registry/ICT), and Babayo Isa (HOD, Finance & Accounts).
