Nigeria’s weather forecast for the next three days indicates varying conditions across different regions.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has reel out the Usual 3 days wheather forecast, urging the public to adhere the advice provided there of by the Agency.

Northern Region:
Thunderstorms with rains are anticipated during the early morning hours over parts of Taraba, Zamfara,
Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna and Bauchi states, while the remaining parts of the region will be sunny with
patches of cloud. Thunderstorms with moderate rains are expected during the afternoon/evening hours
over parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, Bauchi and Gombe states.
Central Region:
Thunderstorms with moderate rains are expected over the region throughout the day and this might
result to flash-floods over this region in the afternoon/evening hours
Southern Region:
Cloudy skies are expected over this region with prospects of morning moderate rains over parts of Ogun,
Edo, Osun, Ondo, Imo, Abia, Enugu, Bayelsa, Lagos, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Rivers states.
Continuous rains with prospects of flash-flood are expected over the region in the afternoon/evening
hours.

Day 2: Wednesday 9
th July, 2025
Northern Region:
Sunny skies with patches of clouds are expected over the region during the morning hours with prospects
of isolated thunderstorms with moderate rains over parts of Taraba, Katsina, Kano, Bauchi and Kaduna.

Central Region:
Morning thunderstorms with light rains are anticipated over parts of Nasarawa, the Federal Capital

anticipated over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Kogi, Kwara and Plateau states.
Southern Region:
Cloudy skies are expected over the region with chances of morning rains over parts of Oyo, Ogun, Osun,
Edo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Rivers and Bayelsa states. Moderate to heavy
rains are expected over the region during the afternoon/evening periods.

Day 3: Thursday 10th July, 2025
Northern Region:
Sunny skies with patches of cloud are expected over the Northern regions with prospects of morning
thunderstorms with rains over parts of Taraba, Borno, Jigawa, Gombe, Yobe, Kano, Katsina and Kaduna
states. Thunderstorms with heavy rains are expected over parts of Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto,
Zamfara, Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna and Bauchi states in the afternoon/evening hours.
Central Region:
Cloudy skies are anticipated over the region during the morning hours with chances of moderate rains
over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Benue and Plateau states. Scattered thunderstorms with
moderate rains are expected over parts of Kwara, Niger, the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa,
Plateau, Benue and Kogi states during the afternoon to evening/night periods.

Southern Region:
There are prospects of morning rains over parts of Enugu, Ebonyi, Osun, Edo, Ogun, Rivers, Cross River,
Lagos, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa states during the morning hours, while the remaining parts are
expected to be cloudy. Moderate to heavy rains are expected over the Southern region during the afternoon/evening periods.

Advisory
i. Strong winds may precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur, public should
take adequate precaution.
ii. Ensure that loose objects are fastened to avoid collision.
iii. Driving under heavy rain should be avoided.
iv. Disconnect electrical appliances from electrical sockets.
v. Stay away from tall trees to avoid impact from falling branches and broken trees.
vi. Airline operators are advised to get airport-specific weather reports (flight documentation) from NiMet
for effective planning in their operations.
vii. Residents are advised to stay informed through weather updates from NiMet.
