Nigeria Congratulates Qatar on National Day, Commends Commitment to Global Peace

The Nigerian government has extended warm felicitations to the State of Qatar on its National Day, December 18, 2024. Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Honourable Minister for Foreign Affairs, conveyed Nigeria’s congratulations to Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
Nigeria commended Qatar’s efforts in promoting global peace and its humanitarian services worldwide. The Federal Government acknowledged the excellent relations between the two countries and expressed commitment to strengthening these ties for mutual benefit.
Qatar’s National Day commemorates the country’s unification in 1878 under Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani. The day is celebrated with various events, including fireworks, parades, and cultural shows.
Other Arab leaders, including Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Moroccan King Mohammed VI, also sent congratulatory messages to Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
