NATIONWIDE PROTESTS: ATACA Seminar Postponed to October 3rd
Konye Joseph
The Abuja Transport & Aviation Correspondents Association (ATACA), has postponed its 4th Annual Seminar, originally scheduled for August 7, 2024, due to the ongoing nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests. The new date for the seminar is Thursday, October 3rd, 2024.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Comrade Chidi Ugwu, the association stated that the new date for the annual event was set for Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, to allow enough time for further preparation.
The decision to postpone the event was made to ensure the safety of guests and participants, who would be traveling from across the country. The protests have created uncertain and potentially unsafe environments, which could hinder attendance and disrupt transportation.
The seminar’s theme, “Harnessing the Aviation, Railway, Marine and Blue Economy sectors for Sustainable Transportation in Nigeria,” remains unchanged. The event aims to provide a platform for policy dialogue, networking, and contributing to the development of sustainable transportation in Nigeria.
The postponement allows for more relevant discussions, reflecting the evolving situations and their implications. It also enables potential attendees, who may be involved in working to end the protests, to participate in the seminar.
The 4th edition of the ATACA Seminar is expected to attract participants from public and private sectors, including industry leaders, professionals, policymakers, and regulators. The event will focus on harnessing the potential of various sectors, including aviation, railway, marine, and blue economy, to contribute to sustainable transportation in Nigeria.
The organizers regret any inconveniences caused by the change in date and look forward to a successful seminar on October 3rd, 2024.
