FEMALE EMPOWERMENT: Lelook Bag Academy graduates 50 women in Abuja… UN Women ready to collaborate

Lelook Bag Academy in Lugbe, Abuja, has graduated fifty women trained in bag making and production, who were also presented with certificates from the National Board for Technical Education (NABTEB), after a six month training on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
In her remarks before the presentation of the certificates at the premises of the Academy in Abuja, the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the Academy, Mrs Chinwe Ezenwa said award of NABTEB certificates was to ensure professional recognition for the beneficiaries after undergoing skills acquisition in the Academy.
The CEO added that graduands were also trained on basic accounting, packaging and labelling as well as good social conduct and behaviour among others that would enable them succeed in the business of bag making and other ventures.
Mrs Ezenwa used the opportunity to call on the Federal, State and Local Governments to provide necessary basic infrastructures and enabling environment for small scale business operators to contribute to national economic development.
In a message, the United Nations Women Representative to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Ms Beatrice Eyong said the training was in line to the actualization of Sustainable Development Goals, SDG, in the area of economic Empowerment for women.
Ms Beatrice Eyong who commended the contributions of Lelook Bag Academy to women empowerment expressed her readiness to collaborate with the Academy towards improving the wellbeing of Nigerian women through skills acquisition.
Graduands were in high spirit as they commended the CEO and Founder of Lelook Bag Academy for giving them the opportunity.
