Rt. Hon. Asuquo pens new month message to Cross Riverians
Emmanuel Alfred
Rt. Hon Daniel Asuquo, the Senatorial Aspirant representing the Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State under the auspices of the Labour Party, has sent a new month message to his Cross Riverians.
In a message laced with hope and encouragement, the House of Representatives Member said God is changing the story of his people for the better in this Ember season.
He said: “Every time we draw near to the Ember months which marks the final quarter of any year, there’s this anxiety that accompany them.
“For 2022, the tension is even more intense as we are not only faced with these ambivalent tensions but the months carry a lot of activities that will begin and determine our direction as a Nation as we mark a rebirth of nationhood”.
He added that it is a period of rebirth because ‘our political consciousness has been boosted by the ideology of the Labour Party, calling on the entire citizenry to take back their country’.
The former Gubernatorial Aspirant acknowledged the challenges the Labour Party is facing as the “political gladiators will once again seek to exploit the weapon of hunger against the masses to skew the Electoral process to their advantage”, but he is convinced by the general acceptability imprinted in the minds of Nigerians to get it right this time.
Hon Asuquo, who was part of the lawmakers that helped to sanitize our electoral process with the signing of the Biometric Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) into law said the process is equipped to scuttle the practices of those who might want to engage in electrical malpractice.
He once again reiterated his decision to contest for the Senatorial position adding that he seeks to bring back the dividends of democracy to his constituents and also assured them of his commitment to the tenets of good governance, quality representation, and accountability.
He encouraged everyone to be “steadfast and don’t be swayed by the sugar-coated presentations you will be faced with beginning from this month because mostly it is always easier said than done, but be ‘Obidient and Yusuful’ as this time, your labour will not be in vain”.
He once again wished everyone a Happy New Month and welcome them to the dawn of a new beginning.
