The Bangladesh High Commission in Nigeria which made a first appearance at the 2019 Abuja International Trade Fair, has attracted a lot of visitors from within and outside the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja in Nigeria.
The High Commission exhibited high quality samples of the countries products ranging from cultural materials, agricultural processed food, pharmaceutical products, beverages, textile, leather and jute fabrics that are eco friendly.
On how he feels about the ongoing trade fair, The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria, H.E Md. Shameem Ahsan, ndc, expressed his delight in being part of the 2019 Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF). “This is the first time Bangladesh High Commission is participating at the Abuja International Trade Fair and we are happy to be part of it.”
On his assessment of the fair, he noted that the location is good but lack of constant electricity was a challenge. “I thank the Abuja Chamber of Commerce for inviting us, the fair has generated lots of interest but I think there is still room for improvement.
“I know the organisers have been trying sincerely to make our presence convenient but one difficulty we face is power supply.
“Due to short electricity supply, we cannot run the video documentary all the time. The organisers should look into this. Otherwise, the place is lovely and next year we hope to attend,” he said.
HE Shameen said that there is great similarity in the cultural, agricultural and economic elements between the two countries for further exploration.
He revealed that with the success and attraction of interested potential customers trouping the stand, the Bangladesh Commission is planning to attend trade fair in other states such as Kano, Bauchi, Kogi, Plateau and Lagos.
Visitors to stand include, the Minister for State, FCT Abuja, Hajiya Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu; Minister for State Industry, Trade and  Investment, Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, and potential business men.
