The Tinubu/Dikko Grassroots Mobilisation Movement has intensified efforts to consolidate its political structures across Katsina State, with the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia, leading a strategic engagement with party stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, held in Katsina, brought together party leaders, political stakeholders and representatives from the state’s 34 local government areas to deliberate on strategies for strengthening grassroots participation, promoting internal cohesion and improving coordination within the movement.

Kankia, who serves as Director-General of the Tinubu/Dikko Grassroots Mobilisation Movement, emphasised the importance of establishing a functional political network capable of sustaining engagement with communities across the state.

He explained the objectives of the movement and the need for a coordinated approach to mobilisation, stressing that effective grassroots organisation would depend on collaboration between the state leadership and local government structures.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to exchange ideas on expanding the movement’s reach, strengthening its organisational framework and ensuring that mobilisation activities were effectively coordinated ahead of the next electoral cycle.

In his remarks, the State Chairman of the movement, Dr Kabir Abdullahi Yantumaki, called on members and political leaders to prioritise unity, cooperation and collective responsibility in pursuing the organisation’s objectives.

Yantumaki noted that sustained collaboration among leaders and members would be critical to building a strong and enduring political structure capable of operating effectively across all 34 local government areas.

He urged stakeholders to work together in translating the movement’s plans into practical grassroots activities, noting that effective leadership coordination would strengthen the organisation’s capacity to engage supporters at the community level.

Among the prominent participants were Hon. Adamu Mato Zango, a former commissioner and former chairman of Zango Local Government Area, and Hon. Nura Katsayal, Special Adviser on Basic Education.

The APC Director of Administration in Katsina State, alongside other party leaders and representatives from the state’s 34 local government areas, also attended the meeting.

Participants discussed organisational priorities, leadership responsibilities and practical measures for improving political engagement across the state.

The meeting underscored the movement’s determination to build a coordinated grassroots network in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

As preparations for the elections gather momentum, the movement faces the task of converting its organisational plans into sustained grassroots engagement, with effective coordination across Katsina’s 34 local government areas expected to be central to its political strategy.
