UACC HOLDS 10TH YOUTH CONFERENCE

The United Apostolic Church of Christ (UACC) held her 10th Annual Youth Conference at Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State last weekend.

The President and General Overseer of UACC, Rev. Dr. James Bayo owoyemi advised the Youth to have the fear of God, by so doing they would not be involved in drugs, kidnapping, and other vices, as leaders of tomorrow the youths should be highly discipline.

Rev. Dr. Owoyemi who was visibly elated gave glory to God for the success of this year’s youth Conference. He said, “The conference could not hold last year due to covid-19 but we appreciate God that this year it could hold. I congratulate the leadership of UACC youth for organising such a peaceful and spirit-filled conference”.

He Further said, “this is the first youth conference, since I became the President and General Overseer of UACC and this 10th Anniversary of the Conference is simply awesome”.

Rev. Dr. Owoyemi, who preached on the topic “Strangers in the earth”, urged Christians to be focused on the Kingdom of God and live a godly life”. He quoted Psalm 119:19 to buttress his point “that we are all strangers here on earth, it’s the plan of God for us to enjoy our temporal stay here and live in eternity in heaven”.

The General Superintendent of UACC, Rev. (Dr.) Samuel .O. Ogunlade said the expectation before the Conference was very high but we thank God it was a success. He said that there has been lots of improvement and progress since the ordination of the President 8 months ago. He advised the youths to be united and shun evil and conspiracy.

The General Secretary of UACC, Rev. Joseph .E. Oluwatuase thanked God for the success of this year’s Conference and noted that it was possible because of the Love and unity among the youths of the church”. He advised the youth to be of good behaviour and exhibit exceptional character anywhere they find themselves.

In his contribution, the General Evangelist of UACC, Prophet (Dr.) Gabriel I. Alo, thanked God for all the programs stipulated for the conference are unique and ministered to edify the youths in general. He advises the youths to keep the fire burning and not to be distracted with worldly pleasures but remain focused on the Kingdom of God.

The excited Youth President, Pastor Samuel Areji appreciated and thanked the youths of UACC for their support, cooperation and contribution to the success of this year’s Conference.

Guest speakers at the conference were Pastor Frank Lawani, JP, Pastor John Owoju, Pastor Kunle Abdul spoked on the topics; strangers in the earth, the price of greatness, praying right respectively.
Award of excellence for past Conference Committee Chairmen was given to the following Deacon Ademola Owoyemi (2011, 2012, 2013 2021), Pastor Moses Adeyemi (2016), Pastor Felix Afolabi (2017), Pastor Tope Adeusi (2018), Deacon Adeyinka Adegbeye (2019).

Awards was also given to those who has contributed immensely to the youth conference since its inception 10 years ago. The awardees include Elder Busuyi Olowoyo, Deacon Kayode Awokunle, Pastor Julius Jegede and Deaconess Kehinde Aribolarin. Also, Pastor Paul Erakhifu and few others were given award of excellence.

Interestingly, the former Archbishop of UACC, Rev. Moses Fayehun was given a posthumous award for supporting the youths of UACC and it was during his reign as General Overseer of UACC that the Youth Conference was born. His children received the award.

Highlights of the conference were, youths revival, quiz, bible study and  other spiritual activities.
