THE WORK CONCERNING WOMEN AND CHILDREN IS JUST STARTING- DAME TALLEN

The Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Dame Pauline K. Tallen has said that the work concerning women and children is just beginning.
She made the statement yesterday 25 January 2021 at the Ministry in a Birthday celebration organised in Honour of her by the management team in Abuja.
The birthday party which was coupled with a welcome back celebration from the COVID-19 attack was a moment of delight as everyone welcomed the Hon. Minister.
The Permanent Secretary Dr Anthonia Ekpa who made the opening remark at the event described Dame Pauline as the Amazon of Women in Nigeria, stating that the victory over COVID-19 was a miracle which has depicted the hand of God upon her life.
Similarly, Hon. Otunba Adewunmi Onanuga, Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development said, “Dame Tallen’s victory is no body’s answers prayers, but her good deeds which has rescued her in the hands of the COVID-19”.
She prayed that the good deeds which has brought her back to sound health will sustain her to fulfill her days with greater ground breaking successes.
Also speaking was the Director General, National Women Development Centre (NWDC), said the Honourable Minister is a mother in deed who was was still on her toes discharging her duties from the isolation centre despite the Covid illness.
The Honorable Minister, Dame Pauline K. Tallen who thanked the staff and her aids, specially Mr. President for a new Permanent Secretary into the ministry stated “with the look of things already, my work has been simplified and made easy because the right person is now in the right position and at the very right time.
” I wanted to welcome her specially alongside the management team not knowing that she was already planning this surprise birthday party and a welcome back celebration from COVID”.
Giving a brief experience on COVID, she said, she was feeling feverish, couldn’t eat on the 26 of December, 2020 and after due consultation, she was asked to do a COVID test after all other tests proved that nothing was wrong with her. Soon as the test was out, she was confirmed positive, rushed to an isolation centre and on the 31 December 2020, she has tested negative.
Speaking on precautionary measures, “COVID-19 is real, protect yourselves and follow all precautionary measures”, she concluded.
