Olawole Secretary General made available to our correspondent, the association stated their “commitment to the protection of the image, constitutional duties, responsibilities, good performance and numerous successes of your government so far despite the numerous challenges on ground”.

They lauded Tinubu for some of the successes recorded so far by his administration.

Labour Congress – NLC, Trade Union Congress – TUC and many other stakeholders without the usual bureaucratic hindrances and bottle-necks, your timely formation of the government with nominations of potential ministers whose lists are before the National Assembly, your leadership of the ECOWAS and the enhanced security of lives and properties within the country away from the incessant killings by bandits, kidnappers and armed robbers as witnessed in the recent past”.

According to them the promises to rehabilitate the refineries and bring those who were part of the fraudulent practices that hindered the growth and sustainability to book as well as ease the sufferings of Nigerians was received with excitement.

As public advocates, to prevent the hijack of the implementation of part of the palliatives involving solving transportation challenges, they appealed to the president to carry them along

“We plead with Mr. President to ensure that whoever must benefit from the transportation palliatives as promised by your good self should first obtain LETTER OF COMFORT OR CLEARANCE from our office. This will enable us carry-out due diligence and run a background check on such individual or body corporate to ensure that they are genuine, viable and have capacity to manage the vehicles or loan facility for the benefit of Nigerians. This also, will allow us to monitor usage and report abuses. Furthermore, this arrangement will enable VOAN to use group pressure to recover the automobile loan when there is default by any vehicle owner or beneficiary. This is aimed at protecting the Federal Government’s scheme and ensures the sustainability of the good intention of the government into the indefinite future”.

The Vehicle Owners Association of Nigeria is the umbrella organization for all vehicle owners in Nigeria both in public and private sector registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria on the September 21st, 2015 and inaugurated at the prestigious General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja by the former Senate President, Late Senator Joseph Wayas on the 17th December, 2015.
