SHIPPERS COUNCIL BEGINS SENSITISATION ON PORT PROCESS

The Project Steering committee of the Nigerian Port Process Manual NPPM, under the auspices of the Nigerian Shippers Council has commenced stakeholders’ sensitisation on newly launched Nigerian Ports Process Manual NPPM.

Recall that the Federal Government had in an effort to enhance the country’s ranking on the Corruption Perception Index (CPI), boost transparency, eliminate bottlenecks and illegal demands within country’s seaports and terminals, launched the Nigerian Ports Process Manual NPPM.

The Council was appointed as the implementation lead agency for the manual, while all federal government agencies in the maritime sector pledged to support the smooth take-off of the NPPM.

Executive Secretary/CEO of the council, Hassan Bello, Wednesday, led the steering committee on a sensitisation visit to the Rivers and Onne Ports in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to sensitise them preparatory to the take-off of the manual.
