SENATE PRESIDENT EXTOLS KATSINA GOVERNOR’S VIRTUE, URGES POLITICIANS TO EMULATE

Senate President, Ahmed Lawan has extolled Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State political virtues and urged the political class to imbibe if they must succeed.

Ahmed Lawan who went on memory lane while they were both serving then at the House of Representatives with the Katsina State Governor on how his wise counsel groomed him to greater height.

“I’ve learned so much from the Governor of Katsina State, my boss. When we are in the House of Representatives, he was of course, the Speaker for four years. And one thing, one attribute and one trait of His Excellency is that, he is a trustworthy person. A man of compassion, a man of empathy, a man of integrity and a very reliable person at anytime.

“I know you are known better in Katsina because you’re their Governor for about six years now, but this is one product that we are proud of in this country, and it is an opportunity to also thank you for teaching me so many things on how to be reliable”.

He therefore called on the members of the National Assembly to tap from the wealth of experience of Governor Masari for overall development.

“I’m sure our Senators are learning those kinds of attribute from you and demonstrating this attribute”.

The Nigerian Senate President used the medium to on behalf of the members of the national assembly consoled the government and people of Katsina State over the two fire incidents that occurred last month.

“On behalf of all my colleagues in the Senate and indeed, the National Assembly, commensurate with people of Katsina over the recent fire incident on the Katsina Central Market also commensurate with people of Funtua of this State for a similar fire incident in Funtua Central Market. May Almighty Allah help us to recover whatever it is that will position our people once again”.

The Senate President was in Katsina State at the weekend to flagged off constituency projects sponsored by Senator Kabir Abdullahi Barkiya, representing Katsina Central at the National Assembly, Abuja.
