Senator Sandy Ojang Onor is gathering waves for support from different corners of the State as the leadership of retirees in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State has declared total support and commitment to his campaign.
Sen Onor, who is vying for the Governorship position of the State, got an overwhelming support on Thursday, September 2, 2022 when the group visited the Director General, “Caterpillar Movement”, Chief Joe Obi Bisong in his office in Calabar.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Elder Dr. Okon, who lamented the poor conditions meted on them by the current administration said, “We are here to handover our families, our street members and to lay complete support to our Governorship Candidate, Sen Sandy Onor.
“We have taken this bold step because, we have suffered a lot as we have not been paid our gratuities since 2014 and we do not want to continue in such a deplorable situation”.
He maintained that the decision to support Sen Onor comes from the fact that as an independent candidate, he is very passionate about the plight of workers especially the retirees and he will come with ways to sort the outstanding debts being owed to them.
Also speaking, Mr Agbor Benedict alluded that, “I happen to have worked briefly with our Governor (permit me to use the word because he’s going to be) in the Ministry of Agriculture. He’s a man that doesn’t ask you where do you come from. He would only say how may I help you? We have come to say we are supporting him enmasse and we would stay there and make sure we vote him into office”.
