The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has extended warm felicitations to maritime workers across Nigeria on International Workers’ Day 2025. The minister praised the sector’s workforce for their dedication, resilience, and invaluable contributions to the nation’s economic growth.
He lauded the efforts of seafarers, dockworkers, port administrators, and regulators, describing them as the backbone of Nigeria’s trade and economic prosperity. He emphasized the maritime industry’s vital role in the nation’s economic architecture and its significance to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Oyetola reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to protecting workers’ rights and welfare, investing in infrastructure, technology, and training to enhance productivity and working conditions. He assured maritime professionals that the Ministry stands firmly with them, working towards building a modern, secure, and thriving maritime sector.
The minister called for continued collaboration between government agencies, labour unions, and private stakeholders to ensure the maritime workforce remains competitive, well-motivated, and future-ready.
