Otedola Supports Christian Chukwu’s Treatment, Visits Him In London

 

Nigeria business mogul and Renowned philanthropist, Femi Otedola Tuesday, visited ailing former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu
few days after he arrived London for further medical treatment.

Chukwu was flown to London on May 16 after weeks of treatment in local hospital in Enugu.
Nigeria Football Federation confirmed Otedola’s visit to Chukwu in London with its tweet,

“@realFemiOtedola visits recuperating former @NGSuperEagles coach, Christian Chukwu at the Wellington Hospital, Circus Road, St John’s Woods London,”
with a picture of the philanthropist, NFF president, Amaju Pinnick along with Chukwu and his wife displayed.
Former Nigeria captain Christian Chukwu, in company with his wife Lilian Nkeiruka, arrived the United Kingdom for medical treatment last week
aboard a virgin Atlantic flight from Lagos.

Chukwu, captained the Senior National Team to win the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in 1980 .

The Federation sought financial support from philanthropic individuals, with the Chairman of Forte Oil, Mr. Femi Otedola donating $50,000 for Chukwu’s medical treatment in Enugu prior to his being taken to London.
Christian Chukwu captained the Green Eagles as they won Nigeria’s first –ever Africa Cup of Nations title in 1980, receiving the brand new Unity Cup from then President Shehu Shagari. He also captained the Enugu Rangers FC team that won the Africa Cup Winners’ Cup in 1977.
Femi Otedola is a Nigerian businessman, philanthropist, and chairman of Forte Oil PLC , an importer of fuel products. Otedola is the founder of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd, and the owner of a number of other businesses across shipping, real estate and finance.

Mr Otedola has recently invested in power generation as part of the liberalisation of the sector in Nigeria.
