The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the postponement of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course for Prospective Corps Members deployed to Niger State.

In a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the scheme said the postponement became necessary due to the ongoing renovation of the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko by the Niger State Government.

According to the statement, the camp suffered extensive damage following a recent windstorm, prompting the state government to commence rehabilitation works to restore the facility.

NYSC Management disclosed that it is making urgent arrangements to secure an alternative venue for the orientation exercise and assured affected Prospective Corps Members that a new commencement date and other relevant details would be communicated in due course.

The scheme expressed regret over any inconvenience the postponement may cause to prospective corps members and their families, while appealing for their understanding and cooperation as efforts continue to ensure a safe and conducive environment for the orientation programme.

NYSC reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and safety of corps members and said further updates would be provided as arrangements are finalized.
