NORTH WEST OPERATIONAL TOUR: Gov Ahmed Aliu Lauds NSCDC CG for Effective Leadership Ethos
Sultan of Sokoto Commends Officers’ Gallantry as GOC 8 Div Nigerian Army shares success stories during CG’s Visit

As the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi continues his operational tour to the North West; the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu has given kudos to the CG for the spontaneous transformation and landmark achievements made by the Corps since his assumption of office.
Gov. Aliyu expressed satisfaction and commended the NSCDC operatives in the fight against insurgency, banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and other related crimes in Sokoto State.
The Governor while applauding the Corps said, “the level of professionalism, dedication and discipline being exhibited by the operatives is very commendable.
The Governor assured the CG that Sokoto State government will continue to work with the NSCDC in the provisions of necessary support that would enhance the fulfilment of the Corps statutory mandate.
“Our government will ceaselessly ensure that logistic provisions are made for security agencies to encourage them in combating crimes and criminality in the State.
In his remarks, the CG explained that the operational tour became necessary in ensuring the welfare of personnel, assessment of their performances vis-a-vis successes and challenges with the view to taking informed decisions to consolidate and enhance the Corps’ performance.
“Upon my assumption of office the Welfare and well being of our officers and men have been priotized.
In order to prove my commitment to that as I am not an armchair CG; there is need to tour the Geopolitical zones so as to acquaint myself with first hand knowledge with my operatives.
With our journey so far I am equally optimistic that my presence will also propel operatives to remain committed to imbibing professionalism and Regimental Discipline in their disposition.
CG Audi said the government has upscaled the welfare packages of the personnel and is providing the much needed logistics, it is therefore expedient to complement its efforts through provision of better services for its citizens.
The CG was also at the 8 Division, Nigerian Army Sokoto and Headquarters Operations Fansan Yamma where he interacted with personnel deployed for the Joint Task Force operations.
He was received by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) and Commander Operations Fansan Yamma, Major General AI Ajose and principal staff officers of the Division who conducted him round and gave operational brief of the operation; successes recorded, challenges and projections.
In a related development, the Commandant General also paid homage to the Sultanate and was warmly received by His eminence, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and President General, National Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs.
The Sultan while expressing optimism that the insecurity faced by the Country will soon be surmounted attributed the challenges to global trends.
The Royal father commended the evolvement of the NSCDC stating that it is performing in accordance to the expectations of Nigerians.
He called on Government to further equip the Corps for it to function optimally.
