NiMet Cautions on deteroriating poor horizontal visibility in the Northern NIgeria.Says flight operations may be disrupted

The NIgerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has again cautioned the public on the on deteroriating poor horizontal visibility in the Northern NIgeria.
According to the Central Forecast Office (CFO) Weather Warning Issued at 09: 10AM Local Time (LT), 27th of January, 2022, “Dust plume has been raised over Niger republic and Western Chad and has been transported into Nigena and currently reducing honzontal visibility – ‘This situation ts expected to perstst from the hme of issuance of this forecast 10
the next 24hrs . It will further deteroriate already poor horizontal visibility over the North”.
FORECAST:
‘Thick dust haze with horizontal visibility values of less than 1000m are expected over Maiduguri, Nguru, Potiskaum, Dutse, Gombe, Yola, Bauch, Katsina, Kaduna, Zarta,Kano and Sakoto.
‘WARNING:
Flight operanons may be disrupted and arrline operators are advised to pick up thei flight folders and adhere to regulations, especially a1 nerodromes in the Northern parts of the country
Road users should exert caution while driving along areas with poor visibility during this period.
People with respiratory problems have also been advised to take precautions.
