In a gesture of appreciation and solidarity, the Managing Director of Nigerian Railway Corporation, Engr. Freeborn Okhirie, PhD, commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for its tireless efforts in protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, including the railway sector.

During a courtesy visit to the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja, Dr. Okhirie praised the Corps for its numerous arrests of suspects involved in vandalizing railway installations and equipment. He acknowledged the significant impact of NSCDC’s interventions, which have helped to mitigate the losses suffered by the Nigerian Railway Corporation due to vandalism.

However, Dr. Okhirie expressed concerns that despite these efforts, the Corporation still faces significant challenges due to the persistent vandalism of its installations across the country. He emphasized the need for a renewed partnership between the Nigerian Railway Corporation and NSCDC to combat this menace.

The Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, welcomed the collaboration and assured Dr. Okhirie of NSCDC’s continued commitment to protecting critical infrastructure and supporting the Nigerian Railway Corporation in its efforts to prevent vandalism and ensure the smooth operation of rail services.
