The Nigeria Medium and Large-Scale Printers League commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for patronizing the local printing industry during the 2023 general election.

In a newspaper advertorial signed by the league’s chairman, Yahaya Amfani, and secretary, Ademola Kasumu, the printers said that the opportunity to print all electoral materials locally was a “historic national exercise” and a “privilege.”
They said that the local print industry was proud of the trust that INEC placed in its capabilities and expertise, and that it had spared no effort to ensure that each material was printed with the utmost precision, quality, and security.

The printers also said that working on the project had been a significant milestone for the local print industry in Nigeria, and that it had provided an opportunity to showcase its advanced technologies and dedicated workforce, nothing that it was the first time INEC had entrusted the local print industry with the responsibility of printing all materials for conducting a general election, and that this had saved billions of naira for the Nigerian economy. The printers also said that they were confident in their ability to render similar services to other ECOWAS nations and African countries.

The Printers League called on other agencies to emulate INEC in patronizing local service providers, as this would “reinvigorate the Nigerian economy.
