Nigeria Weather Forecast from 02/09 – 08/09/2025- NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has released its weather forecast for the week, highlighting the following key points:

Rainfall 

Heavy Rainfall: Parts of Plateau, Kano, Katsina, Bauchi, Nasarawa, Taraba, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states are expected to experience heavy rainfall due to good moisture influx and favorable atmospheric conditions.-

Moderate to Heavy Rainfall: Expected in parts of Borno, Zamfara, Yobe, Katsina, Kano, Bauchi, Kaduna, Kebbi, Adamawa, Kwara, Niger, Plateau, Nasarawa, FCT, Kogi, Benue, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Taraba states.

Advisory: The public is advised to exercise caution due to strong winds, lightning strikes, and thunderbolts that may accompany the rainfall.

Temperature:

Maximum Temperature: Ranges of 30-35°C are expected in parts of Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, and Kebbi states.
Minimum Temperature: Ranges of 15-20°C are expected in parts of Bauchi, Adamawa, Taraba, Plateau, Kaduna, and Kano states.

Precautions:

– Disconnect electrical appliances before the rains, not during.
– Avoid parking vehicles under trees during storms.
– Wait for storms to pass before driving.
