Nigeria Condoles with India Over Air India Flight 171 Crash

The Federal Republic of Nigeria has expressed profound sorrow and extended its heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the Republic of India over the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171 in Ahmedabad. The incident, which claimed the lives of over 290 individuals, has left the global community in mourning.

On Nigeria’s behalf, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hassan Bala Tuggar expressed condolences to the Government and people of India, reaffirming its commitment to global aviation safety.

The Nigeria High Commission in New Delhi is in close contact with Indian authorities to verify if any Nigerian citizen was aboard the flight and provide consular assistance where necessary.

Nigeria supports the call for a thorough investigation into the crash to prevent such tragedies in the future.

“Nigeria stands in solidarity with India during this period of immense grief and unfortunate loss.
“Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to global aviation safety and supports the call for thorough investigation into the crash with a view to preventing such tragedies in the future”, Tuggar said.

Nigeria’s condolence message reflects the country’s solidarity with India during this difficult time. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured that the Nigeria High Commission in New Delhi will provide necessary assistance to any Nigerian citizens who may have been affected by the crash.
