Nigeria and South Africa Strengthen Ties as 11th Bi-National Commission Meeting Kicks Off

The 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC), is set to hold in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 28 to December 3, 2024. This significant meeting aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations and promote cooperation in various sectors.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lead Nigeria’s delegation to the meeting, which will comprise three key sessions: the Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) from November 28-30, the Ministerial Meeting on December 2, and the BNC (Presidential) Meeting on December 3.
The Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission was established in 1999 to facilitate cooperation between the two countries in areas such as defense and security, science and technology, education and culture, manufacturing, and energy.
The 11th session of the BNC is expected to provide a framework for collaborative efforts to promote economic development, improve bilateral relations, and establish mechanisms for peaceful cooperation in the region.
Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, will lead the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation to the Ministerial Meeting of the BNC.
This meeting will mark a significant milestone in Nigeria-South Africa relations, as the two nations strive to deepen their cooperation and promote economic development in the region.
