The Nigeria AfroAsia SMEs Exhibition and Summit is just around the corner, and excitement is building up. On September 17, 2024, a diplomatic briefing was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, bringing together High Commissioners, Ambassadors, and representatives from key Afro-Asian missions.
This briefing was a crucial step in preparing for the summit, scheduled for November 19-21, 2024. The event aims to promote economic diversification, SME empowerment, and bilateral trade enhancement between Nigeria and Afro-Asian countries.
The briefing was a huge success, with several Afro-Asian countries confirming their participation and expressing interest in bringing delegations from both government and private sectors. Key areas for collaboration were identified, including education, youth development, agriculture, SME development, energy, and industrial manufacturing.
The private sector was also mobilized, with discussions on the role of African and Asian SMEs in expanding trade relations with Nigeria. Formal invitations were distributed for pre-event visits, including a trip to Vietnam from September 29 to October 11, 2024.
