The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) and 20 other Federal Government agencies have committed to integrating and adopting the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform (RevOP) and the Federal Treasury e-Receipt (FTe-R) system as part of efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability in public financial management.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEPZA, Olufemi Ogunyemi, disclosed this following a meeting held in Abuja between the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, and the chief executives of 21 affected agencies.
According to Ogunyemi, the Revenue Optimisation Platform, recently approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), is designed to eliminate financial leakages and fraud while advancing the Federal Government’s transparency agenda under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Muhammed Sanusi, the minister explained that the platform was established to provide a comprehensive record of government revenues and expenditures, thereby enhancing fiscal discipline and accountability.
He revealed that 31 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) have already been integrated into the platform, while an additional 21 agencies are scheduled to come on board in the next phase.
“We encourage all agencies to embrace this important government initiative without delay in order to strengthen financial due process and accountability across the public sector,” he said.
Ogunyemi affirmed that NEPZA is well-positioned for full compliance, noting that the Authority’s robust digital financial infrastructure would support seamless integration into the platform.
“We are encouraged and feel responsible to align with RevOP. It is particularly inspiring to see the President providing leadership for this critical financial monitoring initiative, which will further advance the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” he stated.
The adoption of RevOP by more federal agencies is expected to accelerate the government’s drive toward achieving full financial probity and improved revenue management across the public sector before the end of the year.
