NDLEA Makes Major Drug Busts Across Nigeria. Arrests Dispatch Riders, intercepts drug in vehicle mirrors, lipsticks and footwears

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has made several significant seizures and arrests in various parts of the country. At the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, NDLEA operatives intercepted a consignment of cocaine and tramadol concealed in vehicle side mirrors bound for Libreville, Gabon. The shipment, weighing 2.60 kilograms of cocaine and 57,420 pills of tramadol, was seized, and three suspects have been arrested.
Other Notable Seizures and Arrests
– In Abuja, three dispatch riders were arrested for distributing illicit substances, including 149.8 grams of Canadian Loud, a strong strain of cannabis.
– A businesswoman, Mrs. Nwafor Roseann Nneka, was arrested in Lagos for smuggling cocaine hidden in lipsticks. She claimed to have bought the lipsticks used to conceal the illicit drugs, while her husband handled the actual concealment.
– At the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport in Maiduguri, NDLEA operatives seized 160 pills of tramadol concealed in footwears.
– Other notable seizures include:
– 100,000 pills of tramadol capsules in Benue state.
– 233.5kg of skunk in Edo state.
– 77.5 kilograms of skunk in Oyo state.
– 41,705 tramadol capsules in Bayelsa state.
The NDLEA has been working tirelessly to combat drug trafficking and abuse in Nigeria. In addition to these seizures and arrests, the agency has also been conducting War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization activities in schools, worship centers, workplaces, and communities across the country.
The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), has commended the officers and men of the agency for their efforts and encouraged them to continue with the balanced approach to drug control.
