The event, which was attended by dignitaries from the aviation industry, government officials, and stakeholders, was a night to remember. The gala night was filled with excitement, nostalgia, and appreciation for the NCAA’s quarter-century of service to the Nigerian aviation industry.
In agreement with his predecessors and other stakeholders who were in attendance, Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, emphasized the importance of training and retraining for the aviation establishment. “This focus on human capacity development is crucial for enhancing safety, security, and overall efficiency in the sector”, he said.

Recall that Keyamo has been working on various reforms aimed at improving the aviation sector, including:
- Cape Town Convention Compliance: Enhancing Nigeria’s compliance with international treaties to facilitate easier access to aircraft financing and leasing.
- Passenger Rights and Consumer Protection: Launching a consumer protection portal to address passenger complaints and hold airlines accountable.
- Bilateral Agreements and Aviation Diplomacy: Strengthening relationships with international partners to expand air services and promote tourism.

By prioritizing training and retraining, Keyamo aims to create a more competitive and sustainable aviation industry in Nigeria.
Awards and Recognition
During the gala night, the NCAA recognized and rewarded outstanding individuals and organizations that have contributed significantly to the growth and development of the Nigerian aviation industry.

Celebrating 25 Years of Regulatory Excellence
The NCAA’s 25th anniversary celebration was a testament to the authority’s commitment to regulatory excellence, safety, and security in the Nigerian aviation industry.
Since its establishment in 1997, the NCAA has worked tirelessly to ensure that Nigerian airspace remains safe, secure, and compliant with international standards.
Despite the challenges it has faced, the NCAA has maintained its commitment to regulatory excellence. Over the past 25 years, the authority has worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of Nigerian airspace, implementing numerous reforms and initiatives to enhance aviation standards.

The NCAA has also played a critical role in promoting Nigeria’s aviation industry, working with international partners to develop new routes, increase air traffic, and enhance passenger experience.
