NAF Rolls Out Transformative Welfare Initiatives for Personnel

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has introduced a series of welfare initiatives aimed at boosting morale, enhancing well-being, and improving operational efficiency. These initiatives were unveiled by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, during the commissioning of 160-ensuite airmen’s accommodation at Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Lagos.
Key Initiatives include:
- A 100% increase in Ration Cash Allowance (RCA) as part of the 2025 budget.
- Substantial insurance payouts under a newly introduced Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy.
- Large-scale distribution of new uniforms and accoutrements.
- Electricity Subsidy: Upward review of the monthly electricity subsidy for Sam Ethnan Air Force Base.
- Over 470 infrastructural projects nationwide, with 295 completed and 175 ongoing.

The CAS emphasized that personnel welfare remains a key driver of his command philosophy. He disclosed that the NAF has invested over ₦61 billion in welfare initiatives, including upgrades to roads, water supply systems, and electricity infrastructure at various NAF bases.
The newly commissioned 160-ensuite flats are expected to improve living conditions, strengthen unit cohesion, and enhance operational effectiveness. The CAS assured personnel that the NAF is committed to ensuring their well-being and catering to their needs.
