NAF Logistics Conference 2024: CAS Prioritizes Robust Support for Critical Capabilities

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) commitment to robust logistics support and sustainment. This commitment is crucial for ensuring the operational readiness of the NAF.
At the opening ceremony of the NAF Logistics Conference 2024, Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized the importance of logistics in sustaining airpower and ensuring national security. He noted that logistics operations must align with operational effectiveness, as outlined in his Command Philosophy.
The CAS highlighted recent advancements in the NAF’s fleet, including the induction of modern platforms such as the A-29 Super Tucano. He also mentioned that the NAF is investing in data-driven supply chain systems to guarantee timely availability of critical spares and equipment.
The welfare of personnel was also a central focus, with the CAS stating that the NAF must not lose sight of the needs of its personnel. He emphasized the importance of providing critical requirements such as basing and maintenance facilities, equipment, accommodation, and recreational centers.
The 2-day conference aimed to reposition NAF logistics to provide timely and efficient support for sustainable mission accomplishment. With the participation of seasoned military logisticians and the presentation of well-researched papers, the conference was poised to enhance the NAF’s operational effectiveness.
