NACCIMA President Praises Nigeria Tax Act 2025, Commends RMAFC for convening high-level engagement

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has lauded the enactment of the Nigeria Tax Act, 2025, describing it as a significant step towards enhancing revenue mobilization and promoting fiscal sustainability.

Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, National President of NACCIMA, delivered this message at the National Stakeholders Discourse on Enhancing Fiscal Efficiency and Revenue Growth under the Nigeria Tax Act, 2025, held at Continental Hotel, Abuja.

Ibrahim commended the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) for convening the high-level engagement, emphasizing the importance of a modern, efficient, and equitable tax system for economic growth.

Key highlights of the Nigeria Tax Act, 2025, include
– Simplification and Codification: Consolidating tax laws into a single legislation
– Tax Equity and Efficiency: Enhancing revenue generation and simplifying compliance procedures
– Digitalization: Mandating e-invoicing and digital tax filing
– VAT Reform: Retaining VAT rate at 7.5% with expanded zero-rated goods list

NACCIMA expressed readiness to collaborate with RMAFC and relevant fiscal institutions to support reforms, ensuring Nigeria meets its competitive revenue and investment objectives.

The discourse aimed to clarify the implications of the new Act, harmonize institutional roles, and chart a workable implementation pathway that enhances revenue efficiency without overburdening productive sectors.
