Marwa Empathizes with Wounded Officers, Assures Justice, Support,

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mohamed Buba Marwa, has visited two injured officers of the Agency receiving treatment at the National Hospital, Abuja, following a violent mob attack during an anti-drug operation in the Federal Capital Territory.
The officers, Ayegh Dooyun Zachariah and Shehu Jamil Ibrahim, sustained severe injuries after they were attacked by a mob while raiding a notorious drug joint in Dawaki, Abuja, on May 15, 2026.
During the visit on Monday, Marwa sympathized with the wounded officers and assured them of the full support of the NDLEA management, pledging that the Agency would take complete responsibility for their welfare and medical treatment until they fully recover.
He also vowed that those behind the attack would be apprehended and prosecuted.
“The Agency will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that those responsible for this cowardly attack are arrested and brought to justice. An attack on our officers is an attack on the state, and it will not go unpunished,” Marwa stated.
The NDLEA boss commended the officers for their bravery, dedication to duty and professionalism during the high-risk operation, describing their sacrifices in the fight against illicit drugs and substance abuse as invaluable to the nation.
As part of efforts to boost their morale and recognize their heroism, Marwa presented the injured officers with official Letters of Commendation personally signed by him, alongside other support packages to aid their recovery.
He further praised the Agency’s medical personnel and doctors at the National Hospital for their prompt intervention and quality care, which he said had helped stabilize the officers.
Marwa reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to intensifying the war against drug trafficking and abuse across the country, insisting that the NDLEA would not be deterred by violent resistance from criminal elements.
