Manchester United obliterated at Anfield

Emmanuel Alfred

It was an annihilation. There is no subtle way to put it

This was a game that had a lot of highest and a lot of biggest and even what ifs

It was Liverpool’s biggest victory over Manchester united and It was Manchester united’s biggest defeat in 92 years in the Premier League

It was the game that saw Mohammed Salah leapfrog Robbie Fowler on the premier league goalscoring chart for Liverpool

What if?

Cody Gakpo joined Liverpool from PSV after a protracted interest by Manchester united and little wonder he punished united today by scoring a brace in a way that said, “see, I joined the bigger side.”

But what made this result hit differently is how Liverpool who have been struggling this season hit such highs against a Manchester United side that have been “playing well”.

If I learnt anything today is that united are still behind Manchester city and Liverpool in terms of mentality as both clubs have been at the top level for 7 years and it also underlined the fact that Eric Ten Haag, the united coach has overachieved with this squad hence, they need to sign better players in key positions.

It was a game that Liverpool hit seven, hell, it was a game that Liverpool hit heaven but Ten Haag has been served a reality check and we will see how they react to it
