LAGOS-IBADAN RAIL LINE: NRC to begin Operation in November- Okhiria

TheManaging Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation Mr. Fidet Okhiria has announced that the Lagos-Ibadan railway line will open to the public in November.
He made the announcement in an interview with Journalists while on an inspection tour of the federal government standard gauge of Lagos- ibadan rail line ongoing construction headed by the hon. Min. of Transportation Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.
Mr. Okhiria explained that the plan is to open up the lagos-Ibadan railway line by November in other to ease movements of goods and people and enable the citizens to enjoy the benefits of the rail transport system during the festive season.
It will be recalled that the appointment of the MD was renewed by the Federal Government for the second and final four-year tenure last week.
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Magdalene Ajani, disclosed that the re-appointment by the President was conveyed in a letter, with the reference number Ref: No SH/COS/17/A/1698 on October 5, 2020 and is effective from 20th October 2020.
