Labour Party Rally Calabar For Peter Obi

On Monday October 3, 2022, major roads in Calabar,. the Cross River State Capital were shut down for over five hours as members of assorted Support Groups of Labour Party in the State moved out into the streets of Calabar in support of Peter Obi.

The major Road as well as adjoining streets close to he popular centre of activities, Eleven-eleven Roundabout where major State events are usually held, were jam-packed with thousands of the supporters in their Party colours.

They had converged at the Roundabout as early as 7am where they launched out into the major roads making it impassible for traffic for over five hours, halting economic activities and free movement of road users.

The Labour Party supporters were chanting “Freedom has come finally.” “Youths should seize on this God-sent opportunity and vote in Mr Peter Obi”

The elderly ones directed their messages to the younger generation: “Our time is fading out. We are doing this for your sake. You had better wake and seize this chance and free yourself from the cabals and corrupt politicians.”

Speaking to reporters, Ambassador Ogar Osim, the Labour Party State Chairman said they had estimated to parade only 2-million man march in support of the Peter Obi’s candidacy and for LP to take over power at he centre but that’s the crowd far exceeded two Million, five hundred thousand persons.

“This is to send a message to other parties who seem to under-rate our strength not to brag any further. You can see that Nigerians are very tired of other parties that bastardize our collective gains and channeled them into selfish paths.

“You can see that Nigerians are now rooting for Labour Party and indeed Peter Obi…”

The State Co-ordinator member of POINT Peter Obi Integrity Network for Transformation), Mr Ofem said his support group has over 5000 members and have all come from all parts of the State to join others in the march.

He assured that more than 90% of his members have PVCs, assuring that the massive numbers will certainly translate into votes in next year for the Presidential Candidate.
