Jubilation as NSCDC Personnel Hails CG Audi, Commends Interior Minister for promoting 9,937 Officers

There has been so much jubilation across the federation as the 2024 promotion examination results were released;
Appreciating the Commandant General Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi a good number of offices who have been in expectant of the examination results said there has been tremendous change positively in the Welfare, Career Progression and Promotion of officers since the CG assumed office 3 years ago.
Speaking with the Commandant General, our correspondents gathered that there was a backlog of promotions met when the CG assumed office, but all is a thing of the past now.
“It will be recalled that the promotion of officers and men of the NSCDC has been regular and as at when due since CG Audi came on board”
“My long-term aspiration is to make the promotion and general welfare of the officers our priority. We have been able to erase the backlogs of promotion arrears we met on the ground, and it is now regular”.
Notably, the Civil Defence, Correctional Fire Service and Immigration Board held its 5th annual meeting and one of the reasons for the meeting is the promotion of 9,937 officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The promotion was in line with the aspiration and determination of the Commandant General of the NSCDC Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni, OFR not to allow any stagnation or delay for officers.
The Commandant General believes that prompt promotion of qualified and merited officers will go a long way to motivate the officers to always put in their best while carrying out their duties.
The breakdown of the promotion meant that 40 were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commandant General(ACG) and 100 to the rank of Commandant of Corps (CC), while there were 700 conversions and promotions. There are also promotions to other ranks such as Chief Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and Inspector of Corps.
In addition, two officers were also considered for Special Promotions to a new rank for their outstanding service and dedication to promoting the integrity and good image of the Corps.
While congratulating the newly promoted officers, the Commandant General charged them to continue to justify why they merit the promotion by discharging their duties with relentless dedication and commitment assuring them that henceforth there will be no more stagnancy in promotion.
